Course fee payment & refunds.
This policy applies to course bookings with Picasso Academy, operated by PICASSO BARBERING ACADEMY LTD (company 15298965). Your booking confirmation sets out your agreed course, dates and fees. Your statutory rights always take priority over any conflicting term.
Deposit requirements & final payment
Where a deposit is offered, it is payable when booking and forms part of the total course fee. A deposit provisionally reserves a place in an agreed intake; your place is guaranteed only when full payment has been received and your booking confirmed. Pay by the invoice due date and before training begins.
Deposits are normally non-refundable outside applicable cancellation rights, but only to the extent that keeping them fairly covers our actual net loss. A deposit is not automatically forfeited. Statutory refund rights, including an applicable cooling-off cancellation, take priority over this policy.
Cancellation window
You may notify Picasso Academy in writing that you wish to cancel within 14 days of paying your deposit, or your first course payment if no deposit applies. Any refund or deduction is assessed under the rules below. This booking policy does not shorten any longer statutory cancellation period.
If you book as a consumer online, by phone or off our premises and statutory cancellation rights apply, you can cancel without giving a reason until 14 days after the day your contract is made. If training has not started, we refund all course payments, including the deposit. Booking a start date within that period does not by itself remove this right. If required cancellation information was not provided, the statutory period may be extended by law.
Courses starting within the cooling-off period
To start training during a statutory cooling-off period, we must first obtain your express request and provide the required information. If you then cancel before completion, we may deduct only a proportionate amount for training actually supplied, where the law permits. There is no automatic 25% charge or deposit forfeiture for exercising this statutory right.
The statutory right to cancel ends after full performance only if training began with your express consent and your acknowledgement that completing the service would end that right. Starting a course alone is not a blanket waiver.
Other cancellations & short-notice charges
Outside a statutory cooling-off cancellation, if you cancel before training starts, the booked start date is within 14 days of your first payment and we cannot refill your place, Picasso Academy may retain up to 25% of the total course fee. This is a maximum, not an automatic charge, and cannot exceed our reasonable, evidenced net loss. Any retained deposit counts towards that amount; it is not added on top.
For other cancellations, we assess any refund against our reasonable net loss rather than treating every payment as final. We take reasonable steps to reduce losses, including seeking a replacement learner, deduct costs saved and avoid recovering the same loss twice. We explain any deduction and refund any excess payment.
Non-attendance, leaving early or removal
Missing training, leaving before completion or removal for a serious breach of the conduct terms provided before booking does not automatically entitle you to a refund. Picasso Academy considers requests individually, including exceptional circumstances. Any retained fees must remain fair and reflect lawful losses; your statutory rights are unaffected.
Cancellation or changes by Picasso Academy
If Picasso Academy cancels a course before it starts, we refund all course payments, including the deposit. If we cannot deliver the remaining training or make a significant change you do not accept, we offer an appropriate refund for the undelivered part, without limiting any greater legal entitlement. A transfer or credit is an option only if you agree.
Events beyond our reasonable control do not automatically make your payments non-refundable. We discuss alternatives and apply your legal rights to any service we cannot provide. If cancellation results from your serious breach, the fair-loss rules above apply rather than automatic forfeiture of all fees.
Your statutory consumer rights
Nothing in this policy excludes rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable law. Training must be delivered with reasonable care and skill and as agreed. Where those standards are not met, you may be entitled to repeat performance or an appropriate price reduction, potentially including a full refund.
How refunds are paid
For a valid statutory cooling-off cancellation, we refund without undue delay and within 14 days after being told of your decision, subject only to lawful deductions for an expressly requested early start. For a Consumer Rights Act price reduction, the 14-day deadline runs from agreeing your entitlement. Other refunds are paid promptly and normally within 14 days after we confirm the amount.
Refunds use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, with no refund-processing fee. We do not require you to accept a voucher instead of a refund you are legally entitled to.
How to cancel or request a refund
Email or write to the contact below. Include your name, course, booking date and payment reference if available; do not send card details. To exercise a statutory cancellation right, send a clear notice before its deadline; you do not need to wait for our acknowledgement. We also accept valid statutory notices given by another permitted method.
